What you need to send
Assemble everything below into a single PDF and email it to us. Incomplete applications cannot be assessed.
- Proof of Identity — certified copy of your South African ID or passport
- Academic Transcript — your latest academic results
- Proof of Financial Need — Affidavit, or proof of household income demonstrating financial distress
- Proof of Registration — current year registration letter from your university
- Outstanding Fee Statement — official statement from your institution indicating any outstanding educational debt
- Motivation Letter — a personal letter explaining your story, your goals and why you deserve support
- Reference Letter — one letter from a lecturer community leader who can vouch for your character and academic commitment

Questions we are asked most
KKF supports the high achieving but financially distressed student — including final-year students with outstanding educational debt, deserving students who need a scholarship, high performers in Mathematics, Accounting and Science, Grade 12 district achievers.
No. Debt clearance and scholarship payments are made directly to your institution against your official student fee statement. This protects both the student and the Foundation's donors.
The selection committee reviews complete applications and every applicant receives a response within 21 working days. Incomplete applications cannot be assessed.
No. Clearing educational debt is not a handout and it is not a loan — it is a means of restoring dignity, hope and opportunity. We do ask beneficiaries to pay it forward in their communities.
Yes. High-achieving Grade 12 learners are recognised at district level through the Grade 12 Excellence programme, usually via their school and district office.
Corporates can sponsor a student, fund a programme, host graduates for workplace experience or co-host an annual fair. Send an enquiry through the Partnership form or the Get Involved page.
Yes — Section 18A tax certificates are issued on request once proof of payment has been received and allocated.
